Webster Vienna director Arthur Hirsh gave the keynote speech in Berlin at the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy’s Annual Conference entitled, “A World without Walls.” The conference marked the historic occasion of the 25 year anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall.
Hirsh, who has an extensive academic and professional career in European Studies, delivered his talk, “The End of History Re-Visited.” He addressed the competing theses put forward by Francis Fukuyama and Samuel Huntington about the consequences of the end of the Cold War, and discussed his personal observations about the Berlin Wall and the Cold War and its consequences for us today.
You can see the full speech at the conference website.
In addition, Hirsh had the honor of joining the ICD Advisory Board and the ICD Council for Cultural Diplomacy Studies.
