EU: Is Our Common Future in the History?

А public lecture entitled “The EU: Is Our Common Future Just History” was held by the Dutch politician Mr Frans Timmermans at 14 o’clock in Sheraton hotel today. The lecture was organised by The Atlantic Club of Bulgaria, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in cooperation with the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy and the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute to the MFA. In his lecture Mr Timmermans shared his opinion on the future of the EU and its common politics. He pointed out as a mistake the refusal for Bulgaria and Romania to join the Schengen Area and showed his support to the enlargement of the EU. Mr Timmermans shared part of his political priorities, which he will like to fulfill if he is elected as Commissioner for Human Rights at the Council of Europe. The lecture proved to be of great interest and was followed by many questions from the audience.
